The Power of Prayer!

As Christians we have access to God through Jesus Christ. Often, we fail to take full advantage of having friends in high places. Prayer is the most important thing we can do because it tells God that we are dependent on him. This is important to God and is also humbling for us. Unfortunately, many times God doesn’t hear from us as often as he should. By this I mean we use God for a medicine cabinet, we call him when we have a health crisis or other problems in our lives. He is there for that, but he also wants us to communicate with him when he has answered prayers and when we’ve been blessed. He is God when we’re standing on the mountain and when we’re going through the valley.

There are assumptions one must make about prayer, God is real, God loves man, Man needs God and God hears prayer, but it says in John 9:3, Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth. We must seek to worship God daily so that we not only pray for our needs but the needs of others. Things we have the blessing to ask for in prayer. First, we ask for is the forgiveness of sin,

Luke 11: 4 tells us, and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.” Wisdom, James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. The daily necessities of life, Matt. 6:1, Give us this day our daily bread. God is The Great Physician, and we can pray for Him to heal the sick, give thanks for the cheerful times, praise Him in song as we read in James 5:13-14, Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. Protection and temptation against the devil, is a must when we pray, Matt. 26:41 says, Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” The effectual working of the word of God

II Thess. 3:1-2, Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you, and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith.

Let us all take advantage of the blessing of prayer.
