You Can't Unsee It
I got an e-mail the other day from a fellow up in Northern Kentucky. It's with a guy that I have been corresponding and studying with from time to time about Bible authority. He made the comment in his last e-mail about how some of the things he has seen and he knows it to be the truth. He said it is like a fellow told him one time, once you see the truth you can't unsee it.
That is exactly right. It is just like a little child that learns how to open the kitchen cabinet, you can't unlearn him. What is necessary, is for us to accept the truth that we see, when we realize that we are in error. That can be hard and difficult sometimes because of the circumstances we find ourselves in, but for those who are going to be true disciples, they shall do the will of the Lord in the end. If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple - Luke 14:27-33.
May God give us the courage to believe and obey his will, when we see we are astray from the truth. It will take a good and honest heart, But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience - Luke 8:15. Let us have the humility of heart to cast aside what I want, what I think, and accept the truth we see, because one thing for sure, you can't unsee the truth!
