Weather Extremes
Recently, Mr. Al Gore gave a lecture in New York about AGlobal Warming. What is ironic about this was that they are having record cold temperatures in the Northeast. The coldest for that day in almost 50 years. It seems Mr. Gore, as with many other folks in our world are not very well versed in scriptures. Consider Gen.8:22, AWhile the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.God has told us about our planet, what shall be as long as this world stands. There will be the 4 seasons, spring, summer, fall, and winter; and day and night. These regular changes shall not cease!
I am going to be 46 years old in a couple of months, it still get hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. We have had 46 springs, and 46 falls since I have been living on planet earth. If folks would believe the One who knows about our planet, more than puny human beings who are making guesses about things that they can't fully grasp to begin with, they would be much better off. They can't record the daily temperature in every corner of the world. They has always been variations in the recorded temperatures of days of the year, throughout the world, since they have been keeping records. We sometimes get a Awarm day in the winter and a Acool@ day in the summer.
There is another lesson I think we can observe. This speech on AGlobal Worming no doubt had been planned for awhile. Yet it is Aironic that it was given at a time of record cold temperatures. Was this coincidence or the providence of God at work? I tend to think God's providential hand was in the events. He has always been able to answer the Awise of this world, AWhere is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? I Cor.1:20. I think God has a sense of humor. Consider Ps.2:4, AHe that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. In answering the nonsense of human wisdom, he sometimes does it, that it makes the lovers of truth smile and chuckle at the humor of it all.
