"Life is Hard"
Living on planet earth can be pleasant and wonderful at times. "And yet He left not himself without witness, in that he did good and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness" Acts 14:17. Yet many times we realize that life can be hard also. There have been several things that have reminded me of this recently. This was the comment of a sister that has been battling cancer and who has a brother who has been in poor health for several years. Those that have to deal with the horrible disease of dementia and Alzheimer, realize so very well that life can be hard. Then think about the lady who for conscience sake did not what to sign marriage licences for those that are same sex couples, not sits in jail. There are those who suffer daily from chronic diseases in their bodies, which even with all the modern marvels of modern medicine, there are no simple quick fixes. Then there are of those that agonize and lament of children who are not serving the Lord. There are those that have lost loved ones in death, have been left to deal with sorrow and pain. Sometimes the persecutions, the hurtful words from others don't like what you stand for and believe in Christ Jesus. To hear about a mother of young children, who finds out that she has cancer and that it is in various parts of her body. Yes indeed life is hard as we live here on planet earth. Thank God we have hope in Christ. That we can lean upon the Lord, and that we have the word of God to give counsel and insight of how to deal with a lot of those struggles in this world, that makes life hard.
