Come to Me and I Will Give You Rest
Have you had restless nights and wish that you could just have one night of a peaceful nights rest? We can receive so much comfort from the words written in Matthew 11:28-29, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Such an invitation from the Son of God, THE MESSIAH, should certainly capture our attention. One whose word is TRUE and One whose intent is PURE. This invitation can also compel us to make a choice. We can reject it, but where will we go for blessings? We can accept it and receive the promised rest. Jesus is specific in His invitation. His call is for those who labor and under a heavy load. Jesus’ invitation is for all who seek him. There is a rest that we can read about in Hebrews 4:9-11, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” Give God your burdens of sin and seek Him and you can find that everlasting eternal rest.
