The Good News!
In a world of so much bad news, it would be easy to become discouraged. News like political leaders fighting among themselves, news of wars across the globe, news of sickness, news of racial and nationalities being promoters and victims of hatred and violence. There’s just a lot of bad news in the world today.
But there is GOOD NEWS and we can read about it in the bible. Unfortunately. it’s not read and heard as much as the television, radio, social media and all ofthose things that seem to broadcast bad news. Jesus Christ preached the good newswhen he brought light into the darkness. Mark 1:14-15 reads, Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, VS 15 And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Folks the gospel of salvation is the GOOD NEWS. 2 Corinthians 4:6 says, For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. VS 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. Again in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18, For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; VS 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
When Jesus came, the light came, hope came, the assured fact of the resurrection came and a choice of choosing eternal life came! Now that’s GOOD NEWS!!!
