Honor Thy Mother
One definition of Mother that holds true is someone that will love you unconditionally, till her last breath.
There are several bible verses that speak about honoring and praising mothers, as we read in
Proverbs 31:28-29 “Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: ‘Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Proverbs 31:31 “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Many Mothers work hard at raising their children to make sure their needs are cared for way above her own. A righteousness Mother will seek to lead her child to God.
A righteous Mother strives to have the same characteristics of God such as “cares for”, “does never forget her children”, and “gives comfort” as we see in the following verses
God cares for his people like an eagle hovering over her young
Deuteronomy 32:11
God will never forget his children like a mother will not forget their nursing child
Isaiah 49:15
God comforts his people like a nursing mother, Isaiah 66:13
God experiences the anger of a mother bear who’s been robbed of her cubs
Hosea 13:8
Mothers can pass so many things on to their children but the most important is the things she passes on that are of God, example: teaching wisdom, kindness and faith, as we can open the word and read about how she “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Proverbs31:26
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well. 2 Timothy 1:5
God at this time I want to thank you for all the righteous Mothers out there today, that strive daily on leading their children to you. Amen
