Decisions and Choices

Have you ever been confronted with decisions or choices in things of this world? Making decisions can sometimes be troublesome especially when it comes to the sickness of a loved one. Making decisions can bring stress and sometimes heartache.

One thing we need to keep in mind is to talk to God and let him make the decision or choice for us. Often we try to carry these burdens alone, but God never intended for us to be alone. We can read this when Isaiah said in Isaiah 41:13 “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”

We need to trust in God in times of uncertainty, it tells us in

Philippians 4:6-7“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

We also need to put our trust in God not in our own circumstances,

Psalm 33:4 reads, “For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.” Again in 1 Peter 5:7, Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Jeremiah tells in Jeremiah 17:7-8 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

God is our Refuge in Uncertainty, Psalm 62:8 says, “Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.”

We need to remember these things when we are confronted with difficult decisions or choices: 1) Trust in God’s Plan, it will always be better than any we could devise 2) In moments of doubt; remember God’s control is absolute 3) God’s timing is perfect; even when our understanding is not.
