Full Assurance of Heaven
How can we have the assurance we are going to heaven?
The truth is, we can be sure about where we will spend eternity. We can know with certainty that when we die, we will go to heaven.
But how can, we be sure? Many people struggle with the certainty of their salvation.
Colossians 2:2 tells us, That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
We must have that blessed assurance of where we will spend eternity. It is with great confidence in our Savior that we believe and trust in his plan of salvation and obey it. We can have a relationship with Christ through prayer so that he will hear our pleadings and heareth our cries. as it says in
I John 5:14, And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Jesus paid it all. Our assurance rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ. When Jesus died on the cross, He bore our iniquities, enduring God’s wrath, and cried out, “It is finished!” By this, He meant that the full atonement for all our past sins is forgiven if we but seek him and his loving grace.
Assurance is based on the absolute trustworthiness of Scripture,
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 10:9-10 Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Act 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Eph.2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Let us be assured of where we will spend eternity and if you are not certain of your eternal destination, study the scriptures and obey God today.
I John 5:13 gives us the blessed assurance of heaven it reads, I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.
