Are you prepared for eternity?
People who don’t give any thought to what happens to one’s soul when they die often live as if they think this life is going to go on forever. Which poses a question, do you want to live forever on earth?
If so, what’s wrong with that concept? Here are just a few thoughts about that type of thinking and many people live like this life is going to last forever. These physical bodies have limitations, they grow old and tired. They do not have eternal existence, only temporal. The spiritual body is different in that it is eternal. Physical bodies have infirmities, we see them all around us. People who have health issues cancer, covid, heart diseases, not to mention all the heart break we see in this world. There’s a difference than where our souls will spend eternity, if we have made preparation for an eternity with God. Because in heaven we won’t have days that we feel bad, or days that we feel tired, or days that we hurt. No there won’t be any heartbreak in that land.
Paul explains this better in first Corinthian’s 15:42-44 So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable; nit is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. V 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. V 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal shall put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
As these physical bodies grow older and tired, and we feel some pain in our joints, taking on a new body seems like a good proposition! There is a great peace that comes from knowing that your ready for eternity.
